Quick report

Went out to BT yesterday hoping to score some powder remnants before the sun and warmer temps did their thing. The only tracks out there were... from sleds (more on that later). Weather was interesting with early intermittent clouds keeping things cool and shielding the sun a bit. There was a stout 2" crust on most of the approach. Saw evidence of several slides from the last cycle. Dropped a couple cornices in Pucker and didn't see anything notable; snow in the line was variable but mostly good. Good right at the entrance, then like 100' of very noisy refrozen crap, then mostly good soft snow in the majority of the line. Went over to the "Smiley" area and that held better snow, some good pow still left there. Weather looks interesting, should maybe become good corn by tomorrow/Sun, but then looks like yet more snow by Sun eve... gotta love spring in central OR! :) [Lots of sled tracks past the wilderness boundary. I don't even mind it that much on the flats... but I peeked over onto the SW face and there were a bunch of tracks over there as well, including some highmarking on the actual SW face... I love braaping as much as anyone but gotta draw the line there. C'mon guys.]
