Quick report

Red Flags
Poor Snowpack Structure

There was good skiing to be had on W-NW facing slopes. We still have a pretty bad snowpack structure across the board. Everything I dug around on, primarily W-NW slopes as well, was new snow, on top of facets, on top of a 4F crust, all with a weak interface. A significant load of new snow will make things exciting. The biggest hazard out there today was the Mill D North exit via the cabin road. Exercise extreme caution when exiting, it's very interesting.

Instability Comment

There was about 10inches of new, very light density throughout mid to upper elevation terrain in Mill D North. New snow is poorly bonded to to what we had previously and I did find sluffing on most aspects. Some instances of cracking on mid elevation, north facing slopes. Definitely enough snow to take you for a nasty ride through the rocks and trees.
