Some minor cracking and wind affected snow at pit locations (nothing Presidential-esque major). F hard new snow all the way on the ascent along the Cog from Base (2700') to Jacob's Ladder (4700'). Ski descent was fun but numerous shark fins were to be had which could have upgraded skis to have fish scales added to them! :) CTH Score 23 22cm down and 24cm down. ECTN Moderate 23 down. CTH Score 21 32 down on 1mm facets. HS 52cm.

In and out of clouds. All weather was per Higher Summit Obs forecast.
Snowpack
Shallow snowpack with basal facets on krumholz and rocks. No MF crusts found hence it is speculated that being on a solar aspect, snow was melted in latest thaw and refilled with the most recent 2 or 3 light snow cycles. Similar instability results were found in 2 other nearby pits in this AIARE 1 class. We were left wondering what the N aspect on the other side of the trestle is like! Snow temps as follows: TSurf -5.0, 50cm up -7.0, 40cm -5.0, 30cm -5.0, 20cm -4.0, 10cm -3.0
