Quick report
Light winds, broken cloud cover, no precip. Snow was warming quickly when it was in the sun, observed some rollers immediately below the rock buttress on lookers left of Right Gully. Dug a hand pit under the previously mentioned buttress at ~4800ft, SSE aspect, 10:40am. The top 15cm of heavy windslab popped out with light force on a layer of sugary snow. We skied a couple laps of Chicken Rock Gully, hugging skiers left to avoid the wind sculpted features under Sluice and the icefall. Sizeable windslabs across the top of the ravine.
Avalanche
Observed from the floor of the ravine the crown lines of the natural avalanche from Thursday night and the skier triggered avalanche from Friday morning. Both are in the Chute N area. In the attached photo the natural crown line is to lookers left, the skier triggered crown line to lookers right. The skier triggered pocket was a sculpted wind deposit, with many similar deposits remaining under the icefall and under Sluice. The max height of the skier triggered crown appeared to be 2-3ft deep.
