Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
My partner and I booted up gulley #2 and observed some isolated cracking on the recent melt-freeze crust with no propagation. Hand shears on deeper layers were stubborn but would fail on the 12/29 rain crust. Boot pen was highly variable. Some spots of crust were supportive but in other spots it was easy to break through >40cm. Didn’t like the punch crust in gulley #2 so traversed over to main gulley. The new snow did not adhere to the melt-freeze crust at all and made for some very firm skiing. Observed increasing winds on the way out with some light snow transport starting. GOS ski trail skied excellently on the way out.
