Quick report

In the donut hole below 9,600', the snowpack quieted down significantly underfoot compared to what I saw yesterday; cracking was only a few feet long, under 10" soft slabs above the 2/2 interface.

A few slabs off the east face of Gothic ran during the storm (2/8 or 2/7) that likely grew to D2 given the long runout.  A disappointing lack of flush on Schuylkill Ridge and Climax suggests that the latest generation of persistent slabs is still fairly widespread on that NE'rly terrain. A pair of soft slabs on a southeasterly slope on Snodgrass look like they either ran naturally or were remotely triggered today by a ski track about 100 yards away.   Too many clouds to see anything beyond that.
