Quick report

APU Snow science field day to dig in the snowpack to assess surface conditions and look for Dec facets. Weather: Few/Broken, Temps high teens. Light wind at treeline. No precip. Surface conditions: 10-15cm of soft snow on top of supportable crust. There were both small surface hoar and near surface facets on the surface on all elevation bands on our route. We did not travel through any wind impacted snow. Nice ski quality. Ended up digging two pits in close vicinity of each other at Magnum NNE aspect at 2200'. HS 140-190cm Layer of concern facets below crust @ 75-80cm from the surface. ECTP 24-25 SC. Still there but stubborn!
