Great day out at Elevyn, both cute runs have filled in and are producing great skiing. Lots of whumpfing when walking up the Ridgeline to take a look at the alpine. Evidence of windloading on N-NE aspects from last night's wind.
We were advised by another group of skiers that they had produced a slide on the easterly run so we went to take a look. The slide happened on the 2nd steep pitch (~40°) on the run right over a convexity on the slope. Failed on the buried facet/crust layer mentioned in the bulletin, crown was approximately 35cm deep, 10m wide and likely would have propagated further without supporting features in the terrain. We were able to easily produce similar results on similar slopes.
