Upper burnt

Trapper Gilowski, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Today in the upper Burnt we had a nice cold clear day of riding. We saw debris from a few day old slide guess is from Wednesday’s warm spell earlier this week. Both slides were on a south east face. We dug our pit on the same aspect on a 28 degree slope at 1450m around tree line. We had a layer of concern down 45cm this layer reacted in the moderate range sudden collapse, on a facet crust layer. Our second layer of concern was down 95cm on facets reacting in the hard range. With next week getting warmer again I could see this layer becoming reactive. Stay warm and play safe!
