Had a better than expected day up at Emerald Slide path. Weather was mostly cloudy with some breaks of sun. Parking lot temp of -3 to start. The lower slopes are very thin with prominent alder; however, the gully on lookers right provided a decent access route to gain the first bench. After the bench the travel becomes good. Winds were calm most of the day until we hit our high point at 2250m where they picked up into the moderate range. We dug a quick profile pit before ripping skins: HS - 95cm @ 2250m 10cm of fist pow overlies 50-60cm of 4F snow. The base of the snow pack was a mixture of facets and crusts of some sort. On the way down we had some very nice turns on a soft, supportive snow pack. The skiing remained good until the top of the exit gully at about 1700m.
