No signs of instability on skin up from the dam, through cut blocks and forested area to the lookout at treeline. Dug a pit on a moderately sloped, east aspect at ~1750m elevation to inspect the layers.
Pit info: Total height of snow = 170cm; height of new snow = 70cm over mid-Dec rain crust (4f down 30cm, see photo); another lesser crust down 10cm below first crust; consolidated snowpack below the two crusts to ground; no basal facets found.
Skiing was decent, powder becoming heavy with warming conditions, many tree bombs on ground and more falling today.
