Stayed at the hut for a night (16-17) and enjoyed some okay skiing and an adventurous exit.
Road in is technically drivable if you’re willing to slide off the road but easier to park 4-5km past the turn off to jumbo FSR and sled in from there.
Weather was very warm with the temps staying above zero both days at the hut and possibly dropping below 0 higher up. Lots of mixed precip at the cabin but rained lower down. Sun appeared briefly but was mostly overcast or obscured.
~30cm at the trailhead picking up once you got above 1900m with 120cm at the cabin. Several crusts in the upper 50cm with moist snow between but everything was bonded quite well. Skiing was good enough for November above the hut but quickly became very wet and heavy if you dropped below.
No obvious signs of instability just some old piles of debris from a prior cycle. Only concern was below 2200m loose wet avalanches out of extreme terrain. Lots of pinwheeling off cliffs and trees.
Overall the skiing is good if you don’t have high expectations and are willing to do some adventurous skinning to get above treeline. Hiking trail is good to walk up but sketchy to ski down. We opted to ski out the large path near Rods run which was good until valley bottom and crossing creeks.
