Today we attempted to ski at Hankin. It was +4 degrees at the parking lot at 9:30 am when we arrived. We began skiing and quickly realized how dire the conditions really were. The 40 cm of snow on the ground was totally isothermal. If you left the skin track, you were wallowing in unsupportive isothermal snow. We decided the conditions were unsafe for skiing and headed back to the truck.
Hoping the snow forecast for the next few days materializes, and we get some snow at lower elevations.
