Snow conditions were: Powder. Weather conditions were: Cold, Sunny. We rode: Alpine slopes, Mellow slopes, Steep slopes, Sunny slopes. We avoided: Convex slopes. Riding quality was good.

Avalanche

Small size 0.5-1 skier triggered avalanche near Lazy Boy on Cayoosh. Slab was approximately 10-15cm thick and propagated slowly to about 10 metres in width. Skier was not caught. East facing slope. Photo shows highlighted area that slid 1 second before incident. No photos of the incident or slide path unfortunately.
