Quick report
Skied between 8500’ and 10,000’ on Red Lake Peak between 9:30AM and 12PM. East facing aspects in the late morning were excellent with good quality corn snow. S and SW aspects have well-developed penitentes that stayed firm. N and NE held some softer snow with some areas being wind affected and variable. I was surprised to see wind transport off the summit from a mod-strong east wind around 11AM. The snow on the way down was very stable, even in full sun at noon with no signs of wet loose instability or wind slab development.
