Quick report

We toured mainly NW slopes 7400-9000ft in search of cold snow. In wind-sheltered terrain we found about 20cm of soft, dry, cold snow on top of a crust. It was not bonded well, which made for challenging skinning conditions even at moderate slope angles. We also found thin reactive wind slabs in more open terrain. These ranged from 4-10cm thick. We triggered loose dry sluffs on steeper NW terrain. We observed loose wet activity throughout the morning on E and SE slopes across the canyon.
