Quick report
On our way up, signs of wind-loading and instability started around 5000ft. We didn't spot any natural avalanches, but became increasingly concerned about how wind might impact future snow depositing, especially as it seemed to funnel through the bowl and deposit right on a 30-40 degree slope where we triggered a small avalanche. There was a layer of about 3 inches of snow above a very hard ice layer, thickness varying above 5000ft depending on how the wind unloaded and deposited snow. Travel felt stable till about the last 7 feet of the 30-40 degree slope on the way up. Continued to scout further up the bowl where slope angle was low, however visibility was very low and wind began to pick up. We turned around after feeling uneasy after continuing on an east facing slope that also had signs of uneven wind-loading.
