Wind was strong and present all day, and we felt it from all directions throughout the course of the day. Visibility and depth perception were extremely poor, making breaking trail and descending very difficult. We were able to get ~4” wind compacted slabs to pop in quick hand shear tests when ascending the final 500’ to herman saddle through the bowl to the east.

Avalanche

2 avalanches observed: - one small, remotely triggered on a convex rollover while breaking trail up from iceberg lake - second was on exit east from Herman Saddle, trying to stay high we undercut a steeper feature and triggered a slide. My partner was able to ski out of it, I was caught and carried and buried up to my waist.
