Quick report

I observed a good avalanche cycle from 2/4-5 timeframe. We had isolated collapses (none traveling too far) during the approach to the hut. I took the high route to not travel under a couple of steep slopes above the East Fork of Baker road and kept a wide berth from Easley Face.

Snowpack

I found a thin rain crust on a north facing slope at 8,200' which was down 27 cm with thick snow about it for about 5 cm. I got some ECTN10 x3 results on it, but primarily was concerned with the new/old layer of 1/31. The new/old layer was down 62 cm and produced ECTP19, 21, 25 results. The storm slab varied from F on top to small 4F back to F to 4F/1F- at the bottom.
