Quick report
Hiked up with the idea of skiing off Lappi Lake. Put skis on after the second creek crossing. Upon reaching the spur to Lappi off the main trail, we observed very minimal snow at mid levels on the route to Lappi, and extensive ice sheets. Not "Icy snow" but ice sheets. Decided to turn around at that point - there looked like there was some good snow at the peak, but the middle section's observable ice made us concerned about the approach. Additionally, I would be very concerned about this route for the remainder of the season - snow pack on the observed ice seems like a recipe for disaster.
