Quick report
Recreational tour. A nice day with some sun in the morning and light winds. Warm temperatures at lower elevations, and cold temps up high. We started at the lower Gash trailhead. There was very little snow on the trail to the upper trailhead - only a few inches. Another car made it to the upper trailhead, and the road looked reasonable. Coverage remained very thin until around 6500 ft. Above there, it was still thin, but last week's rain crust kept us mostly off the ground. We toured up to around 8200 ft near Gash Knob. At upper elevations, the recent snow above the crust was heavily wind-affected and made for some grabby skiing. We observed some isolated cracking in wind drifts. Pit on NE aspect at 7600 ft was around 3 ft deep. ECTP25 on November facets. It's nice to have some coverage up high, but it's still low tide with lots of hazards.
