Quick report

Cracking
isolated

Toured Mitchell Trees this morning with some sunny breaks and views of the upper mountain. Lots of breeze up on the ridge and active transporting of snow. We noted noted that the snow pack in the upper 1ft had the following layers: - (On Top) Less than one inch of wind transported snow - 1 inch thick wind slab / stiff crust - 6-8” of soft dry snow - Thick rain crust - Soft Snow (on bottom) The wind slab / crust was unsupportable and there was isolated cracking on the skin track. This layer easily slid in small hand pits and was not adhered to the layer below. Area of Travel was around 6000 ft.
