Early season variable conditions. The PWL is dormant and generally unreactive but still has potential to be problematic with future loading. Above 7,800' on N, NE aspects where a decent snowpack exists it is supportable with boot penetration around 10cm. Lower snowpack is fairly weak. The mid pack is strong, supporting standing in boots.
Ridgetop winds were moderate speed from the south with no drifting snow observed.
Snowpack stability is good to very good in its present state. The PWL is still present but unreactive under current conditions. Future snow loading may bring this layer back into play.Weather

Near 8,000' the temp was in the low 30's. Winds were strong out of the S with 30+ mph ridge top gusts.
Snowpack
The snowpack in this area is marginal at best below 7,800'. Above this elevation the snowpack is supportable and coverage is decent to good on N and NE aspects. ECT's showed that the PWL is generally unreactive but not impossible to trigger (ECTX, ECTP29 at 15cm if hitting heavy). If triggered propagation remains likely indicated by PST 42/100 END at 38cm and PST 35/100 END at 10cm.
