Red Mtn

Spent 3 days skiing around the Red Mtn area. Remnants of older slab avalanches on various aspects at treeline and above. A few recent point releases on steep north facing slopes that did not propagate into slab avalanches. No whumphing or cracking noted. Snow quality is variable, hard windslab & sastrugi in the alpine, sheltered areas at treeline held the best snow. Freezing level went to approx. 1400m but was dry above that.
