Type

avalanche

Coordinates

50.951514, -118.286183

Quick Observation

Snow was wind affected. Thin wind crust starting at around 1200m, which got thicker with elevation and surface rime 1 to 2 cm on top of it. I Did a ski cut on small but steep cut bank feature with no results and only 30-40cm of ski penetration. Although, I wouldn't be surprised to see more reactivity on the mid Dec layer starting from shallower areas.

Avalanche Information

Started on a steep and shallow cliffy flank. And stopped where the skin track usually goes. Suspecting tree bomb.

Weather

Valley cloud starting at around 1200m and up to 1650m

Snowpack

ECTN 30 down 70 on SH For whatever it's worth, pulling on the column after finishing the test resulted in pretty franc and planar fracture. I'd be mindful of shallow areas around town that have been exposed northish winds earlier this week.
