Toured along paul ridge today out towards elfin. 15-25cms new snow overnight and through the morning. Anywhere from 20-60cms storm snow sitting on a supportive crust. The crust was probed with ski poles from 950 - 1600m elevation. Minor cracking from ski tips observed in deeper pockets near ridge crests. By 2pm a combination of warming, riming, and moderate southerly winds created a soft slab in the storm snow. Snow became heavy at 4pm onward. We avoided lee terrain features but suspect deeper pockets of storm slab are forming with the incoming weather.
