Ferris

Gorgeous day out! Decided to check out the Ferris glacier. Approach in actually was reasonable and the canyon skiable however observed numerous small slab releases on some of the canyon exits points failing to ground. ( which could be dangerous if swept in the creek). Further up hard trail breaking through trees and as expected very thin to the glacier. Ferris ranged from 40-80 cm coverage and skied okay but the views were stunning. Observed the crown of a large size2/3 under st. Nic failing to ice. Observed shooting cracks on any wind loaded slope immediate lee of a ridge. The ski down was ginger and use of rock skiis recommended
