We tried to get up the North Face of Ursus Major today, but turned around just before the choke. We pole-probed around 60cm of wind affected snow (roughly 4 finger density) sitting on top of a very hard layer (pencil or harder), which we're guessing formed during a wind event mid storm. Although there was over 320cm snow in most places on the glacier, there were lots of open crevasses and we were choosing our routes carefully.

Snow conditions were: Powder, Wind affected. Weather conditions were: Cold, Sunny. We rode: Alpine slopes, Open trees, Steep slopes. Riding quality was amazing.
