There is now anywhere from 30-50cm on top of the crust. In areas where the wind had started to press the new snow into a slab we observed shooting cracks and small (<1) slab avalanches. Only the top 10-15cm was slabbing up, but we avoided more wind affected terrain near ridgetop where I imagine the slab would be deeper.
Snow conditions were: Powder. Weather conditions were: Stormy, Windy, Warm, Cloudy. We rode: Alpine slopes, Mellow slopes, Steep slopes. Riding quality was good.
Avalache Conditions: 30cm + of new snow, or significant drifitng, or rain in the last 48 hours. Whumpfing or drum-like sounds or shooting cracks.
