<p>Recent big cornice triggered avy in Chalk Creek is a good reminder that shallow zones remain suspect.</p>

The Uinta's are fat and white and soft creamy snow is still found on wind sheltered slopes.

<p>While this avy was triggered by a natural cornice fall, it confirms my suspicions that there are plenty of save places to ride, but find a weakness in the pack and all bets are off.</p>
