A recent storm was tapering off and precip had ended by the time we started traveling. The bottom of the cloud deck was around 5,000ft. The wind was calm, but we only traveled in wind-sheltered terrain.
Snowpack
Low elevation terrain is bare with snow cover starting around 4,000ft.
Above 5,000ft, height of snow is 35cm. We found isolated areas as deep as 50cm. The snowpack is mostly new, storm snow. In places there was a very thin, <5cm, layer of old snow (moist melt forms) on the ground.
