Quick report
Observed a large (up to D 2.5) wet slab at approximately 7500 ft on an east aspect in the White River Canyon . This avalanche likely occurred in the last 48 hours during the atmosheric river event.

The morning started fairly clear above the inversion. However as the morning progressed, low-level clouds started filtering in and brought misy conditions.
Snowpack
Below 7000 ft: The snowpack has taken another big hit due to the recent rain event. Rain runnels and wet sloppy snow are widespread at these elevations. However, ski quality was surprisingly fun between 7-6000 ft.
Above 7000 ft: I observed a very firm, supportable rain crust extending to 8500 ft. This crust made for very slick travel. Having the proper sharps gear such as crampons and an ice axe would be helpful at these elevations. Unfortunately, I did not observe much for soft snow at these elevations.
