Quick report

Cracking
isolated

On our ride we observed some isolated cracking of the new snow, it seemed to be failing under the crust on recent facets. Near 7,000’ on a NE aspect we found A total snow depth of 102cm With 7cm of new snow on a crust at 95cm from the ground. Below the crust there were loose grain facets that gained strength as you moved down the snow pack. When descending a steep slope we noticed small loose dry instabilities on the surface. However no other instabilities were observed. We found good riding in shaded slopes with no tracks, and no drip rings from trees. The crust under the new snow was breakable, and the facets below that provided decent conditions.
