Quick report

Cracking
specific
Collapsing
isolated

Snow seemed stable in the meadows, lakes, and trees. Up high on the ridge we were finding consistent cracking +whumphing as we skinned. Probably wind slab. The texture of the snow changed and felt more hollow. As we traveled to a safe spot to access our descent we remotely triggered a slab on an adjacent, steeper aspect. Once we got off the ridge, the reactivity seemed to dwindle. We also saw some big crown lines, which looked like they may have started as cornices, on the northeast facing saddle past Lichtenwasser lake.

Avalanche

North facing exposed ridge line, triggered one D1 remotely while skinning. about 15-20’ from us on steeper terrain. ~8’ wide and 6” deep.
