Quick report

Cracking
isolated

No avalanches, old or new, were seen. In isolated spots above 5000', there was a slab 1-4" thick that was poorly adhered to the soft snow below. It was very patchy and localized with no clear pattern of aspect or slope. Skiers dislodged shallow blocks when traversing these areas. A solid cloud deck kept everything below 6000' out of the sunlight today. Above 6500' it was bright, sunny, and cloudless. Summit temps were around 10 F but almost dead calm. The recent storm made the rim cornice even wider. It was huge and fragile. See the pics.
