Rainbow lake trail

Snowshoed to Rainbow Lake along 21 Mile Creek. NOTE: the main track that has been beaten in does not follow the usual summer trail route up the final hill to the lake. Rather, it ascends a slope to climbers left (south) before contouring at same elevation over to the lake. Unfortunately this path crosses numerous avy paths coming off the cliffs just upslope. It is potentially a very dangerous routing in bad conditions and should NOT be followed. There is a trail (not as well beaten in) of both skis and snowshoes going the proper route (crossing the usual summer trail bridge etc) that should be followed instead as it does not expose you to nearly the same stupidity.
