Quick Observation

Spring is definitely here and the sun is packing a punch. Elevation and aspect meant everything for ski quality today. Solar aspects offered a flavourful mixture of crusts and schmoo over cold pow, or more crusts, with cold, powdery goodness waiting in shaded trees and northy aspects. Ski pen up to 20cm of light and dry if you got it right. HS 178 up on the ridge. Lot's of new avy activity in the recent storm snow triggered mostly around rocks and other warm spots. Some stuffs ran surprisingly far but aren't stepping down yet. A few larger Sz2 slides in the gut of the bowl where you'd expect them. Think spring clothing and sun screen. Mid day high of -1 at 2300m, winds calm SW, convective flurries with intermittant sun.
