Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
Wind was calm until noon then picked up to ~10 mph coming out of the north. Some cracking on isolated wind loaded features. The sun made some short appearances between sunrise and 11am. Hand tests on non-windloaded slopes showed no distinct layers of failure in the top 12 inches. Top foot of snow was dry. Up high there were places where snow was 2-3 feet deep. Though some areas of the ridge and windward sides were cut down to rocks and grass. Some corninces overhanging northern aspects looked to be cracking/separating. Below 4000ft there was only a few inches of wet snow, which coated the ground and road down to 2000 feet. At 2:30pm the snow/rain line was at 3200'. Creeks still open. No signs of previous avalanches. Due to the considerable rating we kept the day to <35 deg
