Quick report
Spectacular day out in the root. Clear and back to the Sw/W winds. I got a nice dark start and made my way to the bribe (best run in the broot ever) gulley. Apart from the wind slab crowns I was able to spot here and then, mostly on N aspects (in other LoHo drainages, and Lil fork of Rock creek), the snowpack was feeling locked up and the winds helped keep the snow cool enough to keep the wet loose at bay. I skinned up the gully, and dug at 8000', S facing. HS 175 cm, ECTX. New/old interface was down 50cm. I did find some stubborn windboard/ thin windslabs (1-2") near the top of the climb, but nothing moved with ski cuts. I skied it a few times for good measure.
Avalanche
I saw a few old wind slabs that appeared to be from the storm earlier this last week, see photos. A couple on N aspects and one on the side of the bribe gulley facing S which looks like it got cross loaded with the E winds.
