We experienced consistent snowfall from lunchtime onwards (S1). Winds were calm, and it overall felt like winter with temperatures staying cool and below freezing.
Snowpack
We observed an average snow depth of 21" (55cm). A well-preserved buried surface hoar layer was found 6" (16cm) beneath the new snow layer. The overall snow structure remains poor, yet it still lacks any cohesive slab on top. However, conditions were quickly changing up there today with heavier-than-forecasted snowfall.
