Today in the silver sands riding area we dug our pit in a meadow Incline: 0 degrees Wind: calm Hight of snow: 106cm Air temp: -13.6 Our compression test results showed a surface hoar layer down 25cm reacting in the easy range at CTE 5-9 sudden collapse. The second layer of concern was down 45cm reacting in the moderate range at CTM 12-18 on a old storm interface. The last layer was down 70cm and this was reacting on the facet crust layer from the October snow. Terrain selection should be simple terrain until the storm snow has time to bond to the old snowpack layers. Have fun and play safe!
