See Snowpack tab for ECT and CT results - great skiing at treeline on north and south aspects today. Cloudy with some flurries most of the day and moderate - strong wind on ridges.
Snow conditions were: Wind affected, Powder. Weather conditions were: Windy, Cloudy. We rode: Alpine slopes, Mellow slopes, Open trees. We avoided: Convex slopes. Riding quality was good.
Overall the storm slabs seem to be bonding with a right side up snowpack. We observed the Dec 9 weak layer but with no propagation. Also observed preserved stellars / facets between some of the slabs which did pop a few times on our column test, but no actual slides: CT13 at 40cm - preserved stellars CT21 at 60cm - facets CT23 at 70cm - facets CT25 at ground (170cm) - rounding facets but lots of moisture ECT Test ECTN12, no propagation. Facets were observed on Dec 9 layer 1.7m down at ground.
