Quick Observation

Drove all the way to end of the trail. Driving was okay- deep ruts in some of the drifts. Ground clearance at least equivalent to a Tacoma is recommended. We did see what looked like a Honda CRV with large tires get as far as GBU. THOS- cruiser until 2nd to last pitch. Large horizontal fracture makes it…interesting? The snow ramp below the last pitch had whoomphing noises and settling. The Ghost Driving: see pictures/captions. Out Tacoma made it to the end of the trail with minor incidents. Crossing the first large creek on the ice bridge was…special. Valley of the Birds: everything but dead bird is in and pretty good! People climbed every route Friday 3/11. This house of sky: see pictures/captions. Great until almost the top. GBU: mostly “U” Malamute Valley: brutally deep snow approach from Keso’s Currtain to Tak Taku. We punched in a trail, but the wind will takes its course. We did not see into Sitka’s slide front the valley. We only could see first pitch of Keso’s Curtain, which was fat! Tak Taku was in excellent shape, albeit snowy.
