<p>Red Flag City out there today! Nothing to perk your attention like the thundering eruption of a grouse exiting the snowpack upon collapse. </p>

Ventured out to see how the new snow and old snow are getting along, and it was clear that the two have some relationship-building to do and could use a little bonding time. From the safety of the ridge, we had several remotely triggered avalanches on mainly North to East facing slopes ranging from 25ft to 200ft in width. These avalanches were failing on the old rotten Oct-Nov snow. While the slab was not incredibly strong where we were (F-, the weak layer was incredibly weak.
