Quick report
There was light snowfall and an obscured sky when I started from Bunny Flat at 1230pm. New snow was wet and dense with ~1" ski penetration. I ascended to 8500' just above treeline by 2pm in low visibility conditions hoping for a break in the clouds to be able to (enjoyably) go higher. After waiting there (eating lunch) for nearly an hour I lost hope and took advantage of a small break in the clouds and descended to 7700' on Green Butte Ridge. Generally, snow above 7700' was lighter and better quality skiing than that below. I then saw that the clouds were properly clearing (around 3pm) and climbed back up Green Butte Ridge in good visibility to 8800', and descended from there around 4pm. Got a good view into Avalanche Gulch (minus the west side of Green Butte Ridge) and didn't see any obvious crowns or avalanche debris from the recent snow. There was only minor wind effect on the surface snow even above treeline, making for excellent soft, supportable, and smooth ski conditions. No wind most of the day, with maybe a few moderate gusts above treeline during the more intense snow showers.
