Quick report
We toured up on an eastern aspect shoulder to Trestle Ridge, above the yamaha flats area of trestle creek. Once at the ridge line we skied down the ridge abit before descending on a SE aspect to the road. We kept to terrain 30 degrees and less, giving a wide berth to steeper terrain and terrain near and adjacent to rock outcroppings. By midday the freezing level was nearing 5000 feet with light, mixed, precipitation. There was a light westerly wind near and at the ridge line but surprisingly calm below that. We observed sluffing/snow bombs from trees as well as some small pinwheeling, indicatve of the higher density snow that had fallen overnight and warming temperatures throughout the day. There were no other obvious signs of instability -- the snow was a fairly cohesive 8-12 inches of high moisture content snow over top of a firm crust layer. On some small & steep test slopes the snow was reluctant to slide and didn't show much slab development.
