Snowpack

-
We were able to find the buried Jan 1-4 surface hoar preserved on a E-NE aspect at about 7100 feet it was nonreactive. Also found a thin layer of buried NSF below the Jan 4 rime crust that that were minimally reactive to CT tests. Same layer did not fail in multiple ECT’s. Still not sure how many other places in the Ogden zones have these preserved PWL lingering.

It’s a mixed bag out there southerly aspects have a stout melt freeze crust, that was softening a little throughout the day The E-NE aspects were still soft. The surface of the snow on those E-NE aspects is a strange surface hoar coated in rime.
