- <p>Many solar slopes are snow-free in BCC, however on slopes with coverage, the wet snow avalanche potential remains. Several large wet snow avalanches were visible down along the Provo skyline from Brighton, with small slides visible in BCC that likely occurred in the past handful of days. Last night's refreeze kept things mild for the day, however with the lack of refreeze coming overnight and another increase in temps, activity is likely to continue. </p>
Last night's refreeze led to improved riding conditions (compared to the past several days) in the late morning/early afternoon. However, things were back to wet, unconsolidated, and isothermic mush by 14:00. Ski penetration off groomers was >10" near 10,000' at 13:00, and >5" even on groomers at 14:00.
I witnessed riders battling route-finding through dirt patches that made navigation weaving through crevasses in the Alaska Range look mild.
