Quick report

Cracking
specific

I toured up the old growth this morning. - Relatively minimal natural avalanche activity in the area, although crowns could be spotted in the Bardini chutes. - Wind effect is widespread, with much northerly terrain that has any wind exposure at all sporting a 4-6” styrofoam wind slab. Plenty of small cracking underfoot. - I dug in on the east shoulder of Punta Bardini at 9400’ to look at the snowpack on a less polar aspect. Here the new snow is less wind affected and right side up, but I was able to initiate a failure: ECTP19 115cm down above old melt-freeze crust.
