Travelled east-ish open slopes from 7200-9000'. Thick valley fog over Mono Lake let up a little in the afternoon but kept most of the lake covered. It sure felt like a temperature inversion - temps at the car were 5F at 9am, and it felt much warmer an hour and a half later and a thousand feet higher. Temps at 130pm at the car were 27F. Otherwise skies were mostly sunny and winds were calm. I could feel the moist snow under my skis starting around 11am. Snow was notably wind-affected pretty much everywhere. Where I travelled, there was a pretty universal windboard with up to 2" soft snow on top. Windboard was up to 6" and stiff (1F-P hard), more breakable in the lower elevation flats and more supportable higher up in the hills (8000' +). Skiing was a little unpredictable - deceptively fast and not quite punchy but surprisingly easy to catch an edge. Snow underneath was slightly softer small rounds.
